Events happening around Maui this weekend.
The fourth annual Maui Fringe Theater Festival kicks off this Friday, Jan. 31 and features performance pieces ranging from drama to improv comedy to dance.
Comedian Jo Koy comes to Maui on Feb. 7. Sure, he may have not been the one to teach you cocaine’s a hell of a drug, but he’s got funny things to say too.
There’s plenty going on this weekend including shows by Los Lonely Boys, BrownChicken BrownCow String Band, Oliver Mtukudzi, Paula Fuga and more.
The third show will take place on Monday, Feb. 10 at 7:30 p.m., according to a post on the MACC’s Facebook page.
Written and directed by Keo Woolford, The Haumāna was produced in Hawaii and the entire cast was either born and raised or living here.
Zimbabwe’s Oliver Mtukudzi – “one of the most powerful creative forces to emerge on the Afro-pop scene in the last three decades” – comes to Maui this weekend.
A new exhibit entitled Mōhala Hou Ke Kapa – translated as “Kapa Blossoms Anew” – opens in the MACC’s Schaefer International Gallery this Tuesday, Jan 21.
