The museum is presents the story of Hawai’i through historic maps, charts, documents, and artifacts. The display is set up in chronological order and includes rare prints, maps, and authentic antique pieces, some dating back hundreds of years.
Talented students from the University of Hawaiʻi Maui College’s Institute of Hawaiian Music will perform alongside their musical mentors in a free end of the month concert in Wailea. The summer outdoor event will be held on Friday, August 31 from 5 to 6 p.m. at The Fairmont Kea Lani’s Palm Court.
Dr. Pualani Kanaka‘ole Kanahele, the foremost scholar of Hawaii’s creation chant, the Kumulipo, will join in the discussion on sacred cosmologies, and how they affect the ways in which we care for the Earth.
