Hana Ranch Purchaser Cites Need for Local-Grown Food

Bio-Logical Capital announced the purchase of the main mauka portion of Hāna Ranch in East Maui and says that it hopes to become a food supplier for Maui and the state.


Food safety violations led to the closure of Kanemitsu Bakery on Molokai earlier this year.

The state Department of Health announced today that it has reached a $20,000 settlement with Moloka’i’s Kanemitsu’s Bakery over alleged health violations involving food safety.

The service aboard a fleet of 42-passenger turboprop aircrafts, begins with three daily fights from Honolulu International Airport to Moloka’i on March 11, and twice daily service from Honolulu to Lāna’i on March 18, 2014.

Wailuku Prices Steady in Weekend Gas Watch

The average price of gas in Wailuku was listed at $4.24 for a gallon of regular, unchanged from last week, three cents more than last month, and three cents more than last year, says the AAA.
