$246 Million Judgement Against Online Travel Companies

A final judgement in the amount of $246 million was entered in tax appeal court against nine Online Travel Companies selling Hawaiʻi hotel rooms, according to information released by the state Attorney General’s Office.

Hospice Hale Slated to Begin Construction in January

Hospice Maui plans to break ground at its current site in Wailuku in January, the agency said. The news comes as a separate non-profit organization, Islands Hospice, announced plans for in-patient service on Maui as well.

Management at the Maui Coast Hotel celebrated the completion of the 426 kW solar array, which is expected to offset 766,370 kWh of electricity each year, translating to enough to energy to power 115 homes.

Housing Authority Awarded $9M to Improve Public Housing
