The seasonally unadjusted unemployment rate for Maui dropped to 4.8% in April 2013 from 5.3% in the previous month, and 6.1% one year ago.

Residential home sales on Maui fell slightly while condominium sales experienced a significant increase in April 2013, according to statistics released by the Realtors Association of Maui this week.

Alexander & Baldwin reported net income for the first quarter of 2013 of $5 million, or a 20% improvement over the first quarter 2012 , which held at an adjusted $4 million.
