The certification comes following a two year effort to conduct renovations aimed at energy efficiency and sustainability throughout the resort. More than 70% of purchased items at the resort are now local, recycled or made with renewable resources.

Maui Nonprofit Gets Grant $2.1 M For Native Hawaiian Education

Maui Family Support Service, Inc. will receive a $2.1 million, three year grant from the Native Hawaiian Education Program. It is one of 24 grant recipients included in a larger appropriation for programs and institutions of higher education that serve Native Hawaiian communities.
