The University of Hawaiʻi today announced that Lui Hokoana has been recommended to the Board of Regents as the University of Hawai‘i Maui College’s chancellor.

A new Sensory Therapy Room in Imua’s new Early Childhood Development Center will be named in honor of Roy Yamaguchi, Roy’s Restaurants of Hawaiʻi, and the Roy’s Golf Classic Tournament, which raised $45,000 this year during the 17th Annual event.

The Maui Chamber of Commerce released a report today saying the Maui County Voter Initiative “would be crippling for the county and have a disastrous impact on the state’s agricultural sector.”

The Japan-based Capbridge Group is collaborating with Hilton Grand Vacations to conduct a $300 million redevelopment of the property into a 388 unit timeshare resort, that is scheduled to break ground in late 2015.
