The administration’s request includes $6,125,000 to protect 3,019 acres at Haleakalā National Park on Maui and $150,000 to protect an additional three acres at the Puʻuhonua o Hōnaunau National Historical Park on the west side of Hawaiʻi Island.

An up to six-level state office building over a five-level parking structure is proposed for development on the site of the old Wailuku Post Office at 70 South High Street in Wailuku. The parcel is currently being utilized as a parking lot for the County of Maui with approximately 45 reserved stalls.

211 Seatbelt Citations Issued During Click It Or Ticket Campaign on Maui

Over the weeklong campaign, Maui police issued a total of 465 citations for various offenses including 211 seatbelt citations. Police also arrested two individuals for Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence of an Intoxicant, as well as 19 other arrests for other offenses.
