BREAKING: Maui Hospital COVID-19 Count Rises to 28

The number of COVID-19 cases at the Maui Memorial Medical Center has risen to 28 as of noon today.  Maui Health confirmed that there are 17 health care workers and 11 patients at Maui Memorial Medical Center who have tested positive for COVID-19.

174 New COVID-19 Cases in Hawai‘i (163 O‘ahu, 9 Maui, 2 Hawai‘i Island)

The state has reported another triple digit increase in new COVID-19 cases with 174 new cases today including 163 on Oʻahu, nine on Maui and two on Hawaiʻi Island.  Of the 235 cases in Maui County, at least 161 have been released from isolation, and 30 have required hospitalization.  Based on the current numbers, there are 68 active cases in Maui County.

Hale Makua Confirms Two COVID-19 Cases: One Resident of Kahului Facility and One Home Health Patient

Missing Person: Man Known to Frequent Kīhei Area

\Maui police are seeking the public’s help in locating Ryan Rodriguez, 28, who was reported missing at around 8:20 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 14, 2020. Rodriguez was last seen, shortly before 8:20 p.m., walking in the area of Kauhale Street wearing a white T-shirt and tan shorts with no shoes.

The health care workers are in quarantine at home and the patients have been isolated in the hospital’s COVID-19 warm unit.
