Moloka’i High’s Grab-and-Go school meal service restarts today, April 7, to provide breakfast and lunch for children 18 and younger. The Department of Education also added Grab-and-Go meal service to Kilohana Elementary on Monday, April 6; and will add service at ʻĪao Intermediate School on Maui on Wednesday, April 8, 2020.

In less than a week’s time, local families got on board with Central Pacific Bank and Central Pacific Bank Foundation’s #KeepHawaiiCooking initiative to achieve its goal of 10,000 meals shared with the community.

Launched in March of this year, The Show Aloha Challenge focuses on serving vulnerable, homebound seniors nutritious meals from locally owned restaurants.

Subway Restaurants are offering a Family Take Out Special–customers who buy two Footlong sandwiches will receive an additional Footlong for free.

The promotion is open to all Hawaiʻi residents, not just CPB customers.

Two Maui companies are joining the fight against COVID-19 by teaming up to produce hand sanitizer in order to best support those on the front lines of the pandemic. Pau Maui Vodka and Maui Gold Pineapple are focusing on maximizing impact by providing sanitizer directly to healthcare workers, government employees and community entities. The companies have produced their first run of hand sanitizer which will be available by the end of the week.

South Maui’s Kīhei Charter School has been added to the list of Grab & Go Meal pickup sites for children 18 years of age and under. Breakfast and lunch meal service is available at the location starting today, Wednesday, March 25, 2020.

Hawaiʻi Sea Spirits llc, makers of OCEAN Organic Vodka, is devoting some of its production to make hand sanitizer to help combat the spread of coronavirus. The effort is made possible in partnership with other local companies including: Maui Babe, Mokulele Airlines, the Maui Food Bank, and Ali‘i Kula Lavender.

During the​ ​extended Spring Break period​, a total of 38 Hawaiʻi public schools will be providing breakfast and lunch to children who are 18 years or younger. They will be able to stop by one of the designated schools (see list below) to pick up a grab-and-go meal. Adults who come to pick up a meal must be accompanied by their child.

Hawaiʻi Agricultural Foundation in cooperation with many of its partners, will replace its Localicious campaign over the next few weeks with a campaign to support all Hawaiʻi restaurants who are open for takeout and delivery during this COVID-19 pandemic.

Breakfast is available from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and dinner is available from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The Hawaiʻi State Department of Education will be implementing the​ ​Seamless Summer Option program​ a few months earlier than scheduled, as approved by the United States Department of Agriculture and Hawaiʻi Child Nutrition Programs.

Honolulu Mayor Caldwell, along with Aloha Beer owner Steve Sombrero announced Friday a coalition of catering and food truck operators will deliver free meals to Hawaiʻi’s kūpuna on Oʻahu during this COVID-19 period.
