Minus the football uniform, fans watched Ewaliko, now 20 pounds of muscle heavier than a year ago, capture gold medals in the boys 100, 200 and 400 relay, while setting meet records in the 100 and 200.

It seemed fitting that if Baldwin High School’s Amber Kozaki was going to rewrite her record in the girls pole vault at the Yamamoto Invitational, that she would have to borrow a pole from one of the boys.

A pair of teenage boys from Valley Isle Gymnastics men’s competitive team earned multiple gold medals at the Hawaii State Championships gymnastics meet Sunday, March 17, on Oahu.

The Oakland Raiders hope free-agent linebacker Kaluka Maiava will help strengthen their depleted defense, signing the Baldwin High School graduate to a three-year, $6 million contract Wednesday.
