The University of Hawai’i women’s cross country team will host the 12th Annual Big Wave Invitational Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Kane’ohe Klipper Golf Course on the Marines Corps Base Hawai’i.

The No. 9 University of Hawai’i Rainbow Wahine volleyball team welcomes third-ranked UCLA along with San Diego State and Idaho to the Stan Sheriff Center this weekend for the 18th annual Verizon Volleyball Challenge.

The University of Hawai’i women’s soccer team posted its first shutout of the season with a 3-0 win over BYU-Hawai’i in a non-conference match Monday night at the Waipi’o Peninsula Soccer Stadium.

Rainbow Wahine Emily Hartong had 18 kills and 14 digs but it wasn’t enough, as the No. 5 California defeated No. 6 University of Hawai’i in five sets — 25-23, 16-25, 20-25, 25-17, 15-12 — of the finale of the Hawaiian Airlines Classic on Sunday at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Sporting its first long sleeve uniforms in three seasons, the University of Hawai’i Rainbow Wahine volleyball team turned back previously unbeaten Baylor on Saturday at the Hawaiian Airlines Wahine Volleyball Classic at the Stan Sheriff Center, 25-17, 25-13, 25-19.
