University of Hawaii head football coach Norm Chow made it very clear when he was hired in December that job salary had “nothing to do with” his return to the 50th state.
The main motivation, he said, was “the chance to come home.”

University of Hawaii head football coach Norm Chow plans to introduce the members of his coaching staff to the public for the first time today at the Downtown Athletic Club’s inaugural lunch event.

Former University Hawaii Warrior Kaniela Tuipulotu will get his chance to showcase his skills to NFL scouts at the upcoming 2012 East-West Shrine Game later this month and then at the Athletes’ Performance facility in the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. on March 5.

This time, Steve Stricker is leaving Maui with the winner’s trophy. And for the first time, he’s already booked reservations for a return trip. The difference next year will be his status — as defending champion of the 2012 Hyundai Tournament of Champions.

Dancers from the Polynesian Cultural Center on Oahu, performed vignettes from their show “Ha”, translated as the breath of life, to open the 2012 Hyundai Tournament of Champions on Maui. The performance cleared the way for champion golfers to make a statement at Kapalua under clear skies and a view of breaking waves on the shores of Honolua and Mokuleia Bays below.
