Laura Beeman was selected as the new women’s basketball head coach at the University of Hawaii at Manoa on Friday. UH Athletics Director Jim Donovan introduced Beeman at a press conference at Les Murakami Stadium and later at War Memorial Gymnasium on Maui.

The University of Hawaii Warrior football team opened spring practice and the Norm Chow era Tuesday with the first of 15 practice sessions at the UH-Manoa campus. The team went through a two-hour scripted practice on its grass practice field.

The Hawaii All-Stars cheer team finished one point shy of claiming two national titles over the weekend at the 17th Annual United Spirit Association All Star Championships in Anaheim, Calif.
