Warning Level North Shore Surf Forecast at 20-30 Feet
Warning level surf of 20 to 30 feet is expected to peak on Wednesday along the north facing shores of Maui and Molokaʻi. The conditions on the water are the result of a combination of a powerful low-pressure system north of the state, and a strong high-pressure system far to the northwest, according to the NWS.
WARNING: North Shore Surf 20 – 28 Feet
Surf will be in the 20 to 28 foot range along the north facing shores of Maui and Molokai; and 15 to 20 feet along the west facing shores of the Friendly Isle.
Northwest Swell Diminishing, Surf Advisory Continues
A northwest swell peaked at around noon today, and is expected to gradually diminish below advisory levels overnight.
High Surf Warning to Bring 20-30 Foot Surf
An unusually long period northwest swell will bring warning level surf to the islands tonight and into the weekend. There is a High Surf Warning in effect for the North and West facing shores of Maui and Molokai; and the West facing shores of Lanai and Kahoolawe until 6 a.m. on Sunday, January 20, 2013.

A High Surf ADVISORY from the National Weather Service in Honolulu will be extended, covering the east shores of Maui and Molokai until 6 p.m. Sunday, November 13.

Forecasters from the National Weather Service say the large west-northwest swell is being generated by a low pressure system moving towards the Gulf of Alaska.

Forecasters from the National Weather Service say strong trade winds will produce rough surf along the east facing shores. Surf is expected to be in the 5 to 8 foot range, building to 6 to 9 feet on Thursday.
