Update: Police investigate shooting in Kīhei, one man dead

South Kīhei Road is closed from Uwapo Road to Leilani Road. The area north of Uwapo to Kīhei is now open. The area south of Uwapo, remains closed. Police closed the area due to an investigation into a possible shooting. The initial closure went into effect at 4:40 a.m., on Sunday, Aug. 27, 2023.

Maui police warn public of fake jewelry scam

Maui police issued an alert, informing the public of a reoccurring fake jewelry scam in which individuals have been approaching people in the parking lots of various business throughout Central Maui.

Man charged after reports of SUV following and threatening female pedestrians in West Maui

Maui police have identified two “individuals of interest” after two suspicious reports Saturday night in which female pedestrians were reportedly followed by an SUV in West Maui, and threatened. In one case, the driver claimed to have a gun; and in the other incident, a gun was pointed at the victim, police said.
