Update 8 p.m. July 11: Haleakalā Crater Road brush fire burns 355 acres; 50% contained; emergency advisory lifted for residents
Update (8 p.m., July 11, 2024): Due to improving conditions Maui County officials have lifted the advisory as of 6:37 p.m. for residents in affected areas to prepare for potential evacuations. Maui Fire Department crews will remain on scene overnight to monitor the fire. Acreage of the fire decreased from 420 to 355 due to more accurate mapping assessments.
Update: Central Maui fire near Pūlehu Road burns 100 acres
An estimated 100 acres of brush burned in a fire near the Pūlehu / Ōmaʻopio Road junction in Central Maui on Monday. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Haleakalā brush fire burns 2-3 acres off Crater Road

Maui fire crews responded to two brush fires in the Piʻihana Farms area of Wailuku on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. The first fire was reported at 10:11 a.m. and extinguished at 12:55 p.m., involving about an acre of brush and an abandoned vehicle. A second fire was reported at 1:12 p.m. and was extinguished at 3:25 p.m. It also involved brush and another abandoned vehicle in a different area. No structures were threatened by either fire, according to fire officials. The cause of both fires is under investigation.

Maui fire crews are battling a brush fire along Maui Veterans Highway. The fire was reported at 2:14 p.m. The Maui Emergency Management Agency issued a Public Safety Alert shortly before 4 p.m., saying the situation is ongoing.
