The state and the county have taken a special interest in energy reduction at Maui restaurants and are sponsoring a free-day workshop series and energy consumption survey.

On Monday, July 28, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Maui Beach Hotel in Kahului, RevoluSun will provide a free solar energy seminar aimed at educating homeowners, individuals, and businesses who are looking at solar as a way of reducing their electricity bills.

Maui County was home to 2,111 businesses owned by Native Hawaiians and Other Pacific Islanders in 2007, according to new findings released this week by the U.S. Census Bureau.
