There is no tsunami threat for Hawaiʻi following a 7.0 preliminary magnitude earthquake reported at 11:03 a.m. HST Southeast of the Loyalty Islands.

Tsunami Advisory Cancelled, 1.7′ Waves Recorded at Kahului
In Kahului, Maui, wave activity reached 1.7 feet with 18 minute intervals between waves according to a reading at 5:14 a.m. Maui beach parks will remain closed until Ocean Safety officials have completed an assessment of the conditions.
