Maui police are investigating a report of an early morning burglary and sex assault at a Haʻikū home reported two weeks ago. Officers responded to the residence at approximately 4:08 a.m. on Monday, July 28, 2025 after receiving a report of an unknown male entering the home without permission.

The Maui Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying two individuals involved in two armed robberies in Upcountry Maui on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. The department released video in the hopes of obtaining new information.

Police have since confirmed that hunters discovered human remains wrapped in plastic, according to Maui Police Department spokesperson Alana Pico. The investigation remains ongoing. 

Students from King Kekaulike High School’s forensics class received an up close look at crime work at the Maui Police Department’s Forensic Facility this week.

The Maui Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division said the most recent scams by telephone involve repairing homes and roofs.
