Homes for FEMA’s Kilohana temporary housing site to be delivered next week to Lahaina

Motorists are advised of potential traffic delays as 10 modular homes for wildfire survivors are transported from Kahului Harbor to the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Kilohana temporary housing site in Lahaina. The hauling is scheduled nightly from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 27 through Wednesday, Oct. 30.

New Kahului Transit Center to open in November for Maui Bus riders

The Maui Bus Kahului Transit Center will open Nov. 20, following the issuance of a certificate of occupancy for the facility on Oct. 10. The final day of service at Queen Kaʻahumanu Center will be Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2024.

Students say the mural was created with the hopes that visitors and residents alike properly treat the land and water with respect and understand its importance.   The ‘ōlelo no’eau (Hawaiian Proverb) that is on the mural reads, “I ola ‘oe, i ola mākou nei”, “My life is dependent on yours; your life is dependent on mine.”
