Ask the Mayor: Is There Front Street Recycling?

It has come to my attention that along Front Street, there are no public recycling receptacles of any kind to deposit recyclable materials in. I realize that money (or lack thereof) is the purported reason for the receptacles not being in place. Is this still the obstacle?

Front St. Planter Installation to Result in Temporary Traffic Impacts

The Department of Parks and Recreation is improving the 0.494 acre parcel for passive shoreline recreation. The property was acquired by the County of Maui by Resolution in April 2007 in a settlement of a state lawsuit and appeal.

Two sewer line replacement projects begin along Front Street in Lahaina next month. Both projects were designed to minimize impacts to traffic in the area by scheduling night work and waiting until nearby schools were out for summer break to start the project.
