Haleakalā Ranch wrapped up its 125th Anniversary commemoration last week by donating its history book to private and public high schools and public libraries within Maui County. Librarian Glenda Berry welcomed the publication saying books about the history of Upcountry Maui are rare.

Haleakalā Ranch kicks off its 125th anniversary year with a historical exhibit about Upcountry ranching. The year-long exhibit opens on Tuesday, Sept. 3, at the Hui Noʻeau Visual Arts Center on Baldwin Avenue in Makawao. Admission is free.

Yesterday, Sempra Generation, a subsidiary of Sempra Energy, announced that it has entered into a 20-year contract to sell 21 megawatts (MW) of wind energy to Maui Electric Company from the Auwahi Wind project on the Ulupalakua Ranch.
