The Hawaiʻi State Department of Labor & Industrial Relations announced that the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for May was 4.1 percent--the same as in the preceding four months. Statewide, 648,750 were employed and 27,400 unemployed in May for a total seasonally adjusted labor force of 676,200. Nationally, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 5.5 percent in May, up from 5.4 percent in April.
