A two day “Coast to Coast Cleanup” event takes place this weekend at two Maui beaches as part of Mālama Maui Nui’s month-long “Get the Drift and Bag it” campaign.

The groups allege that wastewater or sewage from the treatment facility is injected into the wells, and then flows via groundwater through the subsurface into near-shore Maui ocean waters.

Subaru Hawaii Donates $13,000 to Two Maui Non-Profits

Subaru Hawaii has raised $6,700 for Hawaii Wildlife Fund and $2,300 for the Society of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals’ Maui Chapter.

Community Groups to Sue Maui Over Injection Wells

Maui community groups, represented by Earthjustice, plan to sue the County of Maui claiming ongoing violations of the Clean Water Act at the Lahaina Wastewater Reclamation Facility.
