“Near Normal”: 2-6 Tropical Cyclones Predicted in Central Pacific in 2020 Hurricane Season

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Central Pacific Hurricane Center is predicting a near normal 2020 hurricane season. For the season as a whole, 2 to 6 tropical cyclones are predicted for the Central Pacific Hurricane basin. This number includes tropical depressions, named storms and hurricanes.

Hurricane Kiko Slowly Losing Strength

Forecasters continue to monitor Hurricane Kiko in the Eastern Pacific. At 11 a.m. HST, the center of Hurricane Kiko was located about 1,000 miles WSW of the southern tip of Baja California.
