The Maui Arts & Cultural Center presents a trio of world-class musicians, Island Breeze, in a return-to-Maui concert in the McCoy Studio Theater Friday, Dec. 13 at 7 p.m.

Seabury Pāʻina, a special celebration of the school’s 60th anniversary, will take place on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Seabury Hall’s Makawao campus.

Maui musicians won multiple awards and were showcased throughout the event, which took time to recognize the ongoing recovery taking place following the August 2023 wildfires.

A World Peace Event concert takes place this Sunday, March 24 at 3 p.m. at the historic ʻĪao Theater in Wailuku. The event features the music of slack key master Jeff Peterson and Tibetan flautist Nawang Khechog with the 3D film Tibetan Illusion Destroyer by Maui’s own Emmy Award filmmaker Dr. Tom Vendetti.

This week on Maui, events include performances by former SNL comedian Leslie Jones, a Kīhei Fridays block party, a fundraiser for Hui Noʻeau Visual Arts Center, and a night with Hawaiʻi songwriters Keola Beamer, Henry Kapono and Anthony Pfluke. Coming Soon: The Billboard hitmaker Iration, and Grammy Award winning reggae icon Black Uhuru.

Maui Arts & Cultural Center again celebrates the musical tradition of Hawai’i’s famous four-string instrument at the 16th annual Maui ‘Ukulele Festival, a free Maui community music event on Sunday, Oct. 8, in the A&B Amphitheater and Yokouchi Pavilion. Gates open at 2:30 p.m. and the concert starts at 3 p.m.

Jeff Peterson’s latest album of original slack-key songs, Mele Nahenahe, earned him two Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards last week, bringing his total Nā Hōkū award count to 13, in addition to two Grammy Awards.

An orchestra dedicated to presenting both light classical and contemporary pops music on Maui is several events to round out the old year and kick off the new one.

The Maui Arts & Cultural Center will livestream events every Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. through Jan. 30, 2021 for its Live @ the MACC series. The series consists of rock, pop, holiday and Hawaiian music concerts, hula and contemporary dance performances and the visual arts.

The MACC’s Live @ the MACC series continues this weekend, Nov. 20-22, with three free outdoor, drive-in concerts in the A&B Amphitheater. Each concert will also be livestreamed. The first event takes place on Friday, Nov 20 and features NĀ HŌKŪ HOU with Jeff Peterson, Amy Hānaialiʻi & Josh Tatofi.

Former Maui resident, Kaʻimi Hananoʻeau is among the artists with Maui ties nominated in this weekend’s 39th Annual Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards.
