Transportation officials are compiling information about advertising options aboard Maui buses, including how to generate the greatest amount of revenue, and any impacts the advertisements may have.

Kula Maui Bus Route to Start in New Year

The Kula Villager route #39 will launch on January 1, 2013. It will begin at 7 a.m. on Pukalani Street near the Hannibal Tavares Community Center, and go as far as Rice Park.

The buses will serve to augment Maui’s existing fleet, and serve the growing number of passengers on the Valley Isle. If growth continues at the same rate for the rest of the fiscal year, ridership will have increased by more than a half a million passengers from just one year ago.

With bus ridership expected to increase to 2.5 million in the next fiscal year, transportation officials say the new hub will help to meet the growing need of the community.

Maui Enters $1 Per Year Lease For QKC Transit Hub
