Seabury Girls Win Gold Medal at State Canoe Paddling

The Seabury Hall girls outrigger canoe team paddled its way into the state record books Friday, outracing heavily favorite Kamehameha Schools-Kapalama en route to claiming the gold medal.

He was an All-State quarterback for Kamehameha and led the Warriors to back-to-back state football championships. He also earned the Stan Bates Award, given to the top male scholar-athlete in the Western Athletic Conference. He received All-WAC and All-America honors at UH, where he graduated in Pre-law. He played five seasons in the NFL for the Atlanta Falcons.

King Kekaulike High School’s Jansen Agapay hit his team’s only three-pointer of the game with 44 seconds left to lift Na Alii to an opening round upset of Kamehameha Kapalama, 43-38, in the Hawaiian Airlines Boys Basketball State Championships at Radford Gymnasium.
