Update: Cultural celebration honors Queen Kaʻahumanu’s 258th Birthday, March 18

Due to inclement weather and the severe weather forecast, the celebration (which was originally planned for March 15) has been re-scheduled to Thursday, March 19. It will begin with a traditional lei draping ceremony led by the ʻAhahui Kaʻahumanu royal society.

March 17 marks the birthday of Queen Kaʻahumanu, a cherished Kuhina Nui from the island of Maui. This year, Queen Kaʻahumanu Center is celebrating with brand-new events that embrace community, culture and commerce.

Hāna Festivities for Ka‘uiki-Born Queen Ka‘ahumanu

The free public celebration will unfold with a Saturday, March 17 festival at Hāna Bay, and March 18 Aliʻi Sunday worship services at Wananalua Church.
