Like a maestro composing a classical three-point masterpiece, Chaminade’s Christophe Varidel finished one point shy of shredding 30 years of college basketball wizardry in Monday’s opening round of the 2013 EA Sports Maui Invitational Tournament at the Lahaina Civic Center.

The championship round of the 30th annual EA Sports Maui Invitational will take place Nov. 25, 26 and 27 at the intimate 2,400-seat Lahaina Civic Center.

The EA Sports Maui Invitational today announced a partnership with “Fanatics,” the leading online retailer of officially licensed sports merchandise, to sell tournament apparel in the new online store.

A dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on Friday at the Lahaina Civic Center where a new “DreamCourt” was installed for the upcoming basketball season.

The Lahaina Civic Center Gym will be closed for the entire month of October to facilitate refinishing of the court’s wood flooring, county officials announced.
