The Maui Arts & Cultural Center presents legendary award-winning singer Dionne Warwick in concert in Castle Theater Wednesday, Dec. 4. Tickets go on sale online only at 10 a.m. to MACC members Thursday, Nov. 14 and to the general public Friday, Nov. 15.

HIFF returns to MACC with all exclusive Made in Hawaiʻi films

The 44th annual Hawai‘i International Film Festival (HIFF) presented by Halekulani celebrates returns to the MACC Saturday, October 19 and Sunday, October 20 with six Made in Hawaii Feature Films and four Made in Hawaii Short Films under the theme “Creating New Traditions” highlighting the best in new cinema from Hawai‘i, Asia, the Pacific Islands, and the world while blending the rich cultural heritage of the islands with innovative storytelling techniques and diverse perspectives. 

Maui ‘Ukulele Festival returns for its 17th year

On Sunday, Oct. 27, Maui Arts & Cultural Center again celebrates the musical tradition of Hawai’i’s famous four-string instrument at the 17th annual Maui ‘Ukulele Festival, a free Maui community music event in the A&B Amphitheater and Yokouchi Pavilion.

‘Shaka’ doc to screen at film festival at MACC on Sunday

“Shaka, A Story of Aloha” will premiere at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center on Sunday, Oct. 20 at 1 p.m. The feature-length documentary delves into the origins, meanings, and mysteries of the iconic hand-sign, which this year became the official gesture of Hawai‘i.

MACC presents free Keiki Halloween Festival & Cinema in partnership with Imua Family Services, Oct. 26

The Maui Arts & Cultural Center is teaming up with Imua Family Services for a Keiki Halloween Festival & Cinema Saturday, Oct. 26 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the MACC’s A&B Amphitheater, Yokouchi Pavilion and Events Lawn. This FREE ‘Mega Monster Mashup’ event at the MACC will feature a variety of activities including dozens of trick or treat stations, an animal encounter area, live music from DJ Boomshot and Marty Dread and two films on the big screen, It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and Hotel Transylvania.

MACC presents classic rock band WAR in the Castle Theater, Nov. 23

The Maui Arts & Cultural Center presents the return of the Grammy Award winning band War, the first and most successful crossover band that fused rock, jazz, funk, Latin, and R&B. The band has sold more than 50 million records with hits such as “Low Rider,” “Spill the Wine,” “Why Can’t We Be Friends,” “Cisco Kid” and many others. The concert is in Castle Theater Saturday, Nov. 23 at 7:30 p.m.

Hawai‘i International Film Festival returns to Maui with six feature films and documentaries, selection of short films

The Maui Arts & Cultural Center presents the Maui Showcase for the Hawai‘i International Film Festival (HIFF) with six feature films, one short film, and a collection of four ‘Made in Hawai‘i’ short films. All screenings will take place in the MACC’s McCoy Studio Theater starting Saturday, Oct. 19 and concluding Sunday, Oct. 20.

17th Annual Kū Mai Ka Hula competition at the MACC, Sept. 14

Kū Mai Ka Hula (“Hula Appears”) returns to the Castle Theater for its 17th annual event Sept. 14 at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center (MACC) as Maui’s premier annual competition – and Maui’s only adult hula competition. A related presentation and discussion, The Uluwehi Project, will take place Thursday, Sept. 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the MACC’s McCoy Studio Theater. Altered Earth: New Exhibit in Schaefer International Gallery, Aug. 27 – Oct. 19, 2024

Maui Arts & Cultural Center presents Altered Earth in Schaefer International Gallery, an invitational exhibition featuring ten contemporary artists whose work explores the medium of clay and earth-derived materials through a diverse breadth of processes. The invited artists are Clayton Amemiya, Jake Boggs, Jisoo Boggs, Rachelle Dang, Roberta Griffith, Codie M. King, David Kuraoka, Jenna Macy, Sarah Metz, and Brad Evan Taylor. The exhibition runs from Aug. 27 through Oct. 19. The gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
