Seabury Hall Performing Arts will close out its season this month with the 30th annual Side Shows festival, featuring a collection of original one-act plays written and performed by students at the Makawao school.

Performing arts company, Circa, returns to the Castle Theater on Sunday, May 3 at 7:30 p.m. Created by circus visionary Yaron Lifschitz, Humans 2.0 is intimate, primal, and deeply engaged with the challenge of being human.

The Maui Arts & Cultural Center presents the Maui Showcase for the Hawaiʻi International Film Festival (HIFF) with nine documentary films, including a collection of four short films, as well as one drama short film. All screenings will take place in the MACC’s McCoy Studio Theater starting Saturday, Nov. 8, and concluding Sunday, Nov. 9. Tickets for HIFF 2024 Maui Showcase are on sale now at MauiArts.org.

The Maui Arts & Cultural Center will present Kinohi: The Beginning, The Origin, a new concert by Grammy-nominated artist Amy Hānaialiʻi, on Friday, Nov. 14, at 7:30 p.m. in the Castle Theater.

The Hawaiʻi State Foundation on Culture and the Arts announces a calendar of upcoming exhibits at Capitol Modern: the Hawaiʻi State Art Museum. The exhibits include collaborations with World Wide Walls and the Maui Arts and Cultural Center, and a display of recently acquired artworks for the SFCA Art in Public Places Collection.

The Sewing Hui, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to sewing for the Maui community, continues to make its mark on the island’s arts scene with its latest collaboration: the Maui OnStage production of “Come From Away.”

The Dirty Cello band features classical cellist gone rogue, Rebecca Roudman on cello and vocals, who is backed up by a top-notch rhythm section.

The 34th Annual Kī Hō‘alu Festival returns to the Maui Arts & Cultural Center with live, in-person performances at the A&B Amphitheater starting at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 29.

Spectra Fest—a movement that brings together artists, musicians, filmmakers, educators, and local businesses to inspire creativity, foster economic growth, and strengthen community connections—takes place June 9-13 in support of the community of Lahaina, Maui. The event includes Lahaina Intermediate School murals with Hawaii Walls, educational workshops for the community by CreativeMornings, a free film screening by HIFF, an urban makers market by Art + Flea, live music curated by TheBrewz and more. 

The film traces the life of the Maui born singer, Tandy MacKenzie, from his humble origins in Hāna in 1892 to his tragic death in Los Angeles in 1963.

The Maui Arts & Cultural Center presents singer-songwriter Joshua Radin in concert in the McCoy Studio Theater, Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025 at 7:30 p.m. Opening the show will be indie songstress Darling Tarling. Tickets go on sale online only at 10 a.m. at MauiArts.org to MACC members on Wednesday, April 16, and to the general public on Friday, April 18.

ProArts Playhouse on Maui presents Amy Hānaiali‘i’s “A Hawaiian Christmas” on Dec. 11, 2024 at 7 p.m. The ProArts Playhouse also presents “Every Christmas Story Ever Told,” opening Dec. 6 and running through Dec. 15, 2024.

The Maui Arts & Cultural Center presents the return of the Grammy Award winning band War, the first and most successful crossover band that fused rock, jazz, funk, Latin, and R&B. The band has sold more than 50 million records with hits such as “Low Rider,” “Spill the Wine,” “Why Can’t We Be Friends,” “Cisco Kid” and many others. The concert is in Castle Theater Saturday, Nov. 23 at 7:30 p.m.

Zenshin Daiko’s 25th Annual Taiko Festival Concert, a celebration of outstanding muscienaship played with upbeat fun and boundless heart, hits the stage at Castle Theater of the Maui Arts & Cultural Center on Saturday, June 15 at 7 p.m.

Hawai‘i’s fourth Youth Poet Laureate designation was presented to Miya Peterson, a high school senior at O‘ahu’s Punahou School, during a live stream event at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center on Thursday.

The Merwin Conservancy’s Green Room series returns with composer and sound artist Leilehua Lanzilotti on Sunday, April 14, 2024 at 6 p.m. in the McCoy Studio Theater.

The Maui Arts & Cultural Center presents a free community concert featuring the Kamehameha Schools Children’s Chorus on Friday, April 12, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. in the Castle Theater. The He Leo Aloha No Maui Concert will also feature guest performances by Kamaka Kukona and Hālau o Ka Hanu Lehua, Nāpua Silva and Hālau Nā Lei Kaumaka o Uka, and Ikaika Blackburn, Halehaku Seabury, and Keoni Souza of Nā Hoa.

Queen Kaʻahumanu Center invites the community to join in honoring the legacy of Prince Jonah Kūhiō Kalanianaʻole at the Prince Kūhiō Maui Hoʻolauleʻa. The event takes place on Friday, March 22 from 4 to 8:30 p.m. at Center Court.

Maui Academy of Performing Arts has received a $1,000,000 donation for its new black box theatre in Wailuku from philanthropist Susan Naylor Moulton. Currently under construction, the Naylor Family Theatre will open in spring 2025.

The Shops at Wailea has an exciting lineup of events for March, featuring live jazz and Hawaiian music, art showcases and an Easter celebration, all of which are open to visitors and locals.
