Sakamoto has been at the helm of the Maui campus, serving as chief executive officer since 1991, and has been with the UH System for 41 years.

Beginning this summer, the University of Hawaii Maui College will offer iCAN, a series of non-credit classes focusing on energy and agriculture, according to a spokesperson for the University of Hawaii.
