Molokaʻi and Lānaʻi Charity Walks Raise Combined $96,101

Similar fundraiser walks are planned on other islands throughout the month, with the Maui event slated for this weekend, Saturday, May 10th. Funds raised from the events benefit hundreds of non-profit organizations around the state, with the Maui event going directly to non-profits within the county.

Maui Culinary and Tourism Students Awarded $6,000 in Scholarships

Three students from the Maui Culinary Academy and three Business & Hospitality students each received a $1,000 scholarship, the MHLA announced in a press release.

2013 Charity Walk Raises $789,816 for Maui County

The Maui Visitor Industry Charity Walk held in Wailuku over the weekend raised $701,716, according to event organizers. When combined with walks on Lanaʻi and Molokaʻi, the event raised $789,816 for Maui County.

Over 2,500 Mauians participated in the Visitor Industry Charity Walk on May 11. The event raised over $555,000 to benefit Maui non- profits.
