In  a press release, Alexander & Baldwin  announced that its grant program is “touching the lives of thousands of local residents.”

Over the next three-and-a-half years, Mahi Pono farm managers say all of the company’s 41,000 acres will have some type of crop on it.

Alexander & Baldwin invested the final proceeds from the sale last year of Maui agricultural lands, according to the company’s second quarter 2019 report.

Mahi Pono, LLC, today announced that applications are now available for Hawaiʻi residents and small local businesses interested in applying for a two-, five- or 10-acre parcels at its agriculture park.

The process started in December 2018 when A&B sold 41,000 acres of agricultural farmland on Maui. The proceeds from that sale funded the new acquisitions.

Mahi Pono today announced its 2019 crop plan, which includes produce that is scheduled to be planted on approximately 1,500 to 2,000 acres in Central Maui.
