Maui Crime March 28 – April 3, 2021: Burglaries, Break-ins, Thefts

The percentage of burglary cases increased 33 percent from the week before when six incidents were reported. Vehicle thefts increased 300 percent from the week before when two incidents were reported. Vehicle break-ins neither increased nor decreased from the week before when seven incidents were also reported.

The percentage of burglary cases decreased 40 percent from the week before when 10 incidents were reported. Vehicle thefts decreased 50 percent from the week before when four incidents were reported. Vehicle break-ins decreased 30 percent from the week before when 10 incidents were reported.

Maui Police Launch Distracted Driving Awareness Campaign April 5-11

To date the Maui Police Department has issued 359 citations for Distracted Driving compared to 329 citations issued this same time last year. In CY 2020 MPD issued a total of 1730 distracted driving citations.

Maui police responded to 10 burglaries, six vehicle thefts and seven vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period from March 7 – 13, 2021.

Maui police responded to seven burglaries, nine vehicle thefts and six vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period from Feb. 28 – March 6, 2021.

Maui Crime Feb. 21-27, 2021: Burglaries, Break-ins, Thefts

Maui police responded to 11 burglaries, four vehicle thefts and 10 vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period from Feb. 21-27, 2021.

Maui Crime Feb. 14-20, 2021: Burglaries, Break-ins, Thefts

Maui police responded to one burglary, nine vehicle thefts and five vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period from Feb. 14-20, 2021.
