Hirono memorializes fallen Maui Police Officer Suzanne O during committee meeting

US Senator Mazie K. Hirono (D-HI), a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, memorialized Maui Police Officer Suzanne O, who was shot and killed by a ghost gun while on duty last year. At a full committee markup, Senator Hirono honored Officer O by highlighting her dedication to her community and sharing tributes from her fellow officers. 

Maui Police Department illuminated in blue light to honor National Police Week

In honor of National Police Week, a delegation of personnel from the Maui Police Department is attending the annual memorial events in Washington, D.C., including the addition of Officer Suzanne O to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial, where her service and sacrifice will be formally honored alongside officers from across the nation.

This action aims to pay tribute to the law enforcement officers who have tragically lost their lives in the line of duty while serving and protecting others.

Fallen Officers Honored for National Police Week

Those honored included: Officer Harry Fung (1941), Officer Frank Kong (1952), Sgt William Roback Sr. (1958), Officer Gene Williams (1999), Officer Cerilo Agarano Jr. (1999), and Park Ranger Suzanne Roberts (2004).

MPD enforcement nets 350 speeding citations
