The loss of power occurred at around 7 a.m., when a vehicle struck a pole in the area. Students at Lahainaluna HS were released at 10 a.m. because of the outage.

The outage occurred this morning after crews conducted a monthly test of emergency generators at the airport. When bringing the power back online, DOT officials said, not all of the power was restored, with outages affecting the Interisland Terminal.

A planned 4 hr power outage will take place along Kokomo Rd in Haiku on Thurs., Jan. 27, 2011.
