The Hawaiʻi House of Representatives has updated its House Rules for the 33rd Legislature.

This report will serve as the primary reference for subsequent amendments to the interim instream flow standards for the Waikoloa, Kohākōhau, and Wai‘ula‘ula streams in the surface water hydrologic unit of Waikōloa.

House Bill No. 2329 allocates $150,000 to establish a one-year pilot program to reduce the population of rose-ringed parakeets on the Garden Isle.

The Maui Charter Commission will meet Thursday, Sept. 30 at 9 am to receive public testimony about 25 proposals related to ethics and board/commissions as part of its year-long review of proposed amendments to the County Charter, Maui County’s governing document.

The public has two opportunities to comment on proposed revisions to the Maui Planning Commission’s Special Management Area (SMA) permits and shoreline area rules during upcoming meetings.

Mayor Charmaine Tavares will host a series of community meetings this September to take public testimony regarding the proposed budget for the 2011-2012 fiscal year.
