Three students with roots on Maui—a Maui High graduate researching plant-based fire suppressants, a Seabury Hall senior focused on native plant restoration and a college student who found her calling working with the Maui Invasive Species Committee—have been selected as the 2026–2027 recipients of the Friends of Haleakalā National Park’s annual memorial scholarship.

Four new camp offerings for students entering grades 3-9 have been added to Seabury Hall’s Summer Camp program. 

The Mamoru and Aiko Takitani Foundation, Inc. has named 10 high school seniors from Maui County as scholarship recipients in its annual Legacy Scholarship Program, winning $37,000 in scholarships.   

Seabury Hall Performing Arts will close out its season this month with the 30th annual Side Shows festival, featuring a collection of original one-act plays written and performed by students at the Makawao school.

Seabury Hall will host its 50th Annual Craft Fair from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Upcountry campus.

With Mauiʻi’s Kim Ball leading a long effort to make surfing an official statewide high school sport — it was fitting that a sophomore from Maui won the first state high school surfing title in Hawaiʻi history.

The Keiki Kupuna Hoʻike will bring together youth performers and Broadway actress Kate Reinders for an evening of music and intergenerational connection April 26 at the Seabury Hall Theatre in Makawao.

Sloane Jucker, of Maui Prep,  defended her Maui Interscholastic League shortboard title, while Chase Burnes defeated a couple of former MIL champions to win his first boy’s shortboard crown, at the MIL Surf Championship Saturday at Hoʻokipa Beach Park.

ʻAi Pono Treatment Center will host an educational evening for parents and educators titled “Building Body Confidence & Healthy Relationships with Food” on Tuesday, March 11 at 6 p.m. at Sebaury Hall’s ‘A‘ali‘ikūhonua Creative Arts Center. The event is free and open to all parents and educators.

Hawaiʻi Association of College Admissions Counselors in partnership with New Zealand Education will host a New Zealand University Fair on Wednesday, March 4, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Seabury Hall Dining Hall. 

Seabury Hall Performing Arts will present Kodachrome, a thoughtful and engaging play by Adam Szymkowicz, directed by Marsha Kelly, for one weekend only, March 6–8, at the ʻAʻaliʻikūhonua Creative Arts Center on the Seabury Hall campus in Makawao.

Seabury Hall captured the inaugural Division II state championship in mixed canoe paddling on Saturday at Keʻehi Lagoon, winning a tightly contested final at the Hawaiʻi High School Athletic Association (HHSAA) Canoe Paddling Championships.

Maui’s Myla Tuitele of Kamehameha-Maui was among the athletes selected as members of the Division I All-Tournament Team for the Hele HHSAA Girls Soccer State Championships.
