In one of his first decisions since becoming Police Chief, Gary Yabuta announced his selection for Deputy. 26 year police veteran and Assistant Chief Clayton Tom was named to the post.

Maui Police Detective Jayson Rego was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant.  The 21 year MPD veteran began his career in 1988 after graduating with the 37th Recruit Class.
