Spoon & Key Market Wailea announced a collaboration with the Maui Arts & Cultural Center (MACC) to offer an auction item at the 27th Maui Calls gala, taking place on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2025: an exclusive private dinner for six guests at the Wailea beachfront home of legendary talent manager and culinary pioneer Shep Gordon, featuring a menu crafted by acclaimed Maui chef, Christopher Kulis, co-owner of Spoon & Key Market in Wailea.

The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua rings in the 2025 Kapalua Concert Series with singer-songwriter Gretchen Rhodes. The event will take place on Friday, Jan. 3, 2025, from 6-9 p.m. at Alaloa Lounge where Rhodes will deliver an unplugged evening of blues and rock. Admission is complimentary while dining at Alaloa Lounge, and seating is first-come, first-served.

The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua will host singer/songwriter Gretchen Rhodes for a special unplugged concert from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday.

An elegant and impactful, new, coffee-table book titled MĀLAMA MAUI: Music Photography from Lahaina, has just been released. One hundred percent of the profits from sales of the book will be donated to the Maui United Way Fire Disaster Relief Fund.

Live @ the MACC is presenting a free streaming concert on Saturday, March 13 at 7:30 p.m. featuring GRB: Gretchen Rhodes Band. The concert will stream on MauiArts.org, the MACC’s Facebook and YouTube pages.

Steven Tyler, award-winning singer, philanthropist, actor and member of rock band Aerosmith will be performing at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center on Dec. 27.

At UHMC, nearly a thousand-people gathered on the Great Lawn as students and elected officials made speeches saying “enough is enough” to end gun violence.

The state senate passed the bill as amended on third reading today. There were 23 yes votes; one yes vote with reservations from Senator L. Thielen; and two “no” votes from Senators Ihara and Slom. The item is now being transmitted to the House for further consideration.

The bill, now being called the Steven Tyler Act, after the Aerosmith lead singer, former “American Idol” judge, and part-time Maui resident, would give celebrities the right to sue over unwanted photos, images, and recordings in the islands.

The Wall Street Journal has reported that Steven Tyler, leader singer for Aerosmith and an “American Idol” judge has purchased a home on Hawaii’s Maui for $4.8 million.
