A new farmer assistance and food distribution program to help farmers and community members impacted by COVID-19 in Maui County was announced today by Mayor Michael Victorino. The County of Maui is committing $30,000 per week for the next four to five weeks, to purchase food from local farmers and facilitate community distribution.

Skog Rasmussen LLC was co-founded in January of 2019 by Jeanne Skog, former CEO and President of Maui Economic Development Board and Teena Rasmussen, former Director of the County of Maui Office of Economic Development.

Maui County’s annual Made in Maui County Festival (MIMCF) has been recognized with an Achievement Award from the National Association of Counties (NACo).

The county Mayor’s Office of Economic Development (OED) will offer free workshops on OED grants funding for the 2019 fiscal year.

Maui County has released its Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy, a report that reviews the state of the County’s economy and sets a strategy for economic development.

Teena Rasmussen, the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development director, will be the guest speaker at the Rotary Club of Upcountry Maui meeting on Friday, March 4, from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.

The show ensures that Mālama can provide free childcare and developmental screenings for clients’ children, as well as help at-risk pregnant women access treatment and prenatal care so they can give birth to healthy babies.

Vendor applications and sponsorship forms are now available for the 2nd Annual Made in Maui County Festival scheduled to take place on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015 at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.

More than 9,000 people attended the first ever Made in Maui County Festival held at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014, despite steady rain over the Central Maui area throughout the day.

A limited number of vendor slots are available, with information sessions scheduled to take place from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8 and 15, at the Cameron Center in Wailuku.

The second of two informational sessions for the first-ever Made in Maui County Festival, takes place tonight from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Cameron Center in Wailuku.

Products and foods to be showcased at the upcoming Made in Maui County Festival will be featured in the latest edition of Maui Mayor Alan Arakawa’s television show entitled “Your County with Mayor Arakawa.”

Vendors of products made in Maui County are invited to attend informational sessions to find out more about the first-ever Made In Maui County Festival, scheduled to take place November 7 and 8 at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center in Kahului.

The Maui event is patterned after the successful “Made In Hawaiʻi” Festival, and is expected to draw an estimated 6,000 to 8,000 residents and visitors.

Opening ceremonies get underway at 10 a.m. today for the Cabrinha Kite Surf Pro event at Hoʻokipa Beach Park on Maui’s North Shore.

The challenge grant, awarded by the County of Maui Office of Economic Development, provides up to $10,000 in matching funds for the event, planned to run from Nov. 22 to Dec. 1, 2013.

Thirteen small businesses in Maui County received funds ranging from $500 to $5,000 under a Small Business Revitalization matching-grant program.

Local producers on Maui are encouraged to apply for funding and booth space at the upcoming Made in Hawaiʻi Festival, scheduled for August 16 to 18, 2013 at the Neal S. Blaisdell Exhibition Hall on Oʻahu.

The County announced an end to the Fourth Friday Town Party in Paia, and has decided to open dialogue with Kihei instead. Officials said the county could not overcome the traffic and safety issues associated with the Paia event.
