A 51-year-old woman from Nāpili, Maui, is in stable condition, but exhausted after being rescued in waters off of West Maui this morning following an overnight search.

A 55-year-old man was airlifted from the area known as the “Commando Trail” in Kailua on Monday afternoon, after suffering from over exertion and heat.

Rescue crews on board the fire department’s Air-1 helicopter located the teenager, along with two females and a male on the Hoapili Trail, also known as, “The Kings Highway,” roughly two miles east of the parking area at La Perouse Bay.

Two visitors were airlifted from the area known as the “Commando Trail” in Kailua on Monday morning after becoming stranded by high stream water on Sunday night.

It’s believed that the victim fell from about 60 feet and landed on the rocky coastline at the water’s edge between the Nākālele blowhole and the Olivine Pools.

The Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA) today reported that Hawaii will see additional flights from Asia beginning in the fourth quarter of 2011.

The Hawaii Tourism Authority is projecting an 18.3 percent decline in arrivals from Japan for the month of March, less than the 25 percent drop initially projected following the events on March 11.
