Two Men. Two Hawaiian Destinies.

Moses Goods and Vinnie Linares each present a one-man play which examine the lives and destinies of two men coming from two entirely different cultures, one, a Hawaii-born ali’i, and the other, a farmer’s son from Belgium. Through their eyes and words, we become an intimate witness to their challenging evolutions as two men leaving a significant imprint on Hawaiian history. Moses Goods in The Legend of Kaulula’au is an old Hawaiian tale of how a spirited boy takes his rightful place among legends. This solo performance retells the story of how Kaulula’au faces demons, prophecy, and a very testy father, to truly find and accept where he belongs. Vinnie Linares in Damien highlights the significant moments of Father Damien’s life as the leper priest of Molokai. Awakened from his deadly slumber, he takes a journey through his turbulent and compelling life until 1879, answering his detractors and critics, a journey that eventually takes him home again.
