Maui Fire Captain Lee Mainaga was promoted to the rank of Fire Services Chief in a ceremony held on Monday at the Kahului Fire Station.

Mainaga, a 20 year veteran of the department, joined the Maui County Department of Fire and Public Safety on March 16, 1990.  FS Chief Mainaga has served in various capacities throughout the years at stations in Lanai, Kihei, Paia, Wailea and Hana.

Mainaga’s promotion officially took effect on January 1, 2010.
