3.8 Earthquake Rattles Big Island

A 3.8 magnitude quake occurred at 7:38 this morning on the southeastern flank of Mauna Loa on the Big Island.  The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center says there is no tsunami expected.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake was centered 2 miles west of Pahala, 11 miles north-northeast of Naalehu, 18 miles east-northeast of Hawaiian Ocean View, and 44 miles south-west of Hilo, Hawaii.

The exact coordinates were 19.2 North and 155.5 West.
