Market Street Project Work Hours Extended for Five Days

The county will extend working hours on Phase 2 of the Market Street project in Wailuku Town.  For five consecutive days, beginning Tuesday, May 25, 2010 through Satruday, May 29, 2010, Goodfellow Bros. will be working during the day and evening hours.

This is expected to allow completion of the project three weeks earlier than originally scheduled.  County officials say it will also reduce the overall impact to the community and the narrow roadway towards Happy Valley.  Work includes the construction of drain and sewer lines near Mokuhau Street.

Market Street will remain open for local traffic, with South-bound traffic rerouted to Mokuhau Road to Makua Street and Kahawai Street. North-bound traffic will be directed through the street with traffic control measures and the assistance of Maui Police officers.
