Electronics Recycling Event Set for Lanai

The County of Maui Department of Environmental Management, Solid Waste Division, today announced an “E-cycling” electronics recycling event on Lanai, scheduled for Wednesday, June 23, 2010 from 8:30 a.m. – noon at Central Services in Lanai City.

The recycling event will allow the public to recycle electronic equipment, including any device with a circuit board such as computers, televisions, stereos, and any equipment that attaches to such items. Also recyclable: copiers, fax machines, point-of-sale (POS) systems, cell phones and office equipment. There is no charge to recycle electronics.

Here on Maui, electronics recycling drop off is available on Tuesday and Saturday mornings at 970 Lower Main Street in Wailuku (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) It’s part of Maui County’s E-Cycling Program and overseen by Habitat for Humanity Maui.
