Maui trainer Labuanan achieves top certification

Maui’s Michael Labuanan has recently become the International Youth Conditioning Association’s (IYCA) most decorated professional trainer.  The Wailuku resident and former Maui High School standout athlete is the first IYCA Professional to earn the organizations “Youth Fitness Specialist – Level 3” distinction.

In May, Labuanan achieved the distinguished “Level 3” title as the most credentialed member of the IYCA.

“I love everything about the IYCA and what it stands for” said Labuanan, who is also a certified Youth Speed & Agility Specialist by IYCA.  “The support of the members and staff in this organization is unparalleled in this business.” 

“Since joining the IYCA in 2008 and becoming a certified YFS two years ago, my youth fitness program has flourished with the education I have received and continue to receive ,” Labuanan added.

Labuanan has been a personal trainer since 2004. He has worked with numerous Maui Interscholastic League athletes and is certified by the National Exercise and Sports Trainer’s Association (NESTA) as a Master Personal Trainer and Speed, Agility & Quickness Trainer. He is also a certified personal trainer by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and a certified Sports Performance Coach by USA Weightlifting.
